Alayor in catalán known as Alaior, is a menorquin municipallity situated 12 kilometers to Mahón's east Menorca, and has a population of 8,000 inhabitants.

Alayor lives from it's tourism, but also from it's footwear industry, or it's contruction material fabrication. All very important just as is the artisan made cheeses. It's traditional festivities are in august, and it's patron saint is San Lorenzo. It's most important and touristy urbanizations are Cales Coves and Son Bou.
