Menorca is an Island of 700 squared kilometers, with a population of 90,000 that is divided in 8 municipalities. Mahón is the capital and Ciudadela is the most extensive municipality.

Besides these two important municipalities, Menorca has six more that add to it´s history, population, and it´s importance to the Menorca we know today.
Mahón is the capital of Menorca today, but years ago it was Ciudadela or Ciutadella as it was previously called. It is the second most important city on the island. Es Castell and the locality of San Luís are the two closest to Mahón and protect the port entrance. Es Mercadal is the locality that posesses the natural parks of Albufera and Fornells. Es Migjiorn and Ferrerías are the last two cities that together with Alayor make up this island.
