Menorca is known for nature, a unique location that has many beautiful natural parks and a Biosphere Reserve. This is especially a characteristic that nature lovers and those who love open spaces admire.
To sum things up, we can say that Menorca has a grasp of all the different mediterrenean habitats.

In Menorca we must first mention the Parque Natural de la Albufera d'EsGrau and it´s influentional zone such as the Biosphere Reserve. It is nearly 2,000 acres of puddles, lagoons, small barren islands, all of which have a unique natural quality. You will also find prehistorica remains.
On the other hand, from this Natural Park we not fail to mention the Isla de Em Colom, in which you´ll find a wide variety of vegetation like the buckthorn trees, oleaster trees, and saffron. Spices that are found close to the coast.
On the other hand, if we head towards the humid vicinity of albufera, we´ll find species such as eneas, rushes and elm trees. The pine trees complete the vegetation that makes up this park, Parque Natural de la Albufera d'Es Grau.

To what is referred to as the fuana, we must mention the different species of birds such as the Peregrine Falcon, the Dormouse, and the Turtledove. In the outskirts of the Biosphere Reserve you´ll find the Ciudadela Coast. Places of interest are Playa de La Val or Albufera de Fornells, one of the most magical places on the island and Monte Toro, the highest point on the island.

In the south of the island in the municipality of Es Migjorn you´ll find breathtaking cliffs, sand dunes, small barren islands, floral fauna, and different species of birds. For all these special characteristics Menorca is a Biospheric Reserve, and a location that is definately worth visiting.
