Every municipality of Menorca celebrates their patron saint with festivities. Most of them occur in the summer when tourism is the main source of income to the island.

We must also mention that the patron saint festivities of Menorca are a centanary tradition, all of them coming about after the festival of San Juan de Ciudadela with is the patron saint of Humanity. There are two main ingredients that make this festival fun. One is watching the horses and horsemen participate in in a spectacular show, and number two is a drink called Pomada, made of gin and lemonade and very popular in this area of Minorca.

For example, Mahón has it's patron saint festivities around September 8th. Their patron saint is Virgen de Gracia. In Ciudadela they celebrate them around the night of San Juan which falls on the 24th of june
